How it works
- Start from a trip, a date range, or a place Pick from your photo library by when or where it happened, or bring photos in from Google Photos or the Files app.
- Smart Select finds the keepers It looks at every candidate on your device — dropping the near duplicates and the accidental shots, and noticing which frames have people in them — then proposes a set.
- Smart Trim finds the moment inside a long clip A three-minute video usually has about six seconds worth watching. MaxShot listens and looks for where those are, so the recap uses the good part instead of the first part.
- Choose the beat Fast Paced for a montage, Regular for the usual rhythm, or Full Length to let every clip run as long as you filmed it.
- Edit it properly if you want to A real timeline: trim, split, reorder, drop in your own music, undo anything. Or accept what it gave you and export.
- Save it back to your library The finished recap goes straight to your camera roll, ready to send to whoever was there.
Your photos stay on your device
This is not a cloud service, and there is no MaxShot account. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload them to — every bit of the work, including choosing the shots and trimming the clips, happens on your iPhone.
There is no analytics SDK, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind in the app. The privacy policy sets out the three narrow cases where anything at all leaves the device, and what each one is for.
Music
MaxShot lets you score a recap with music you already own, from files on your device. It does not come with a catalogue of licensed tracks, so choose music you have the right to use — particularly if you plan to post the result somewhere public.
